Printmaking

Printmaking to Honor and Echo Nature

Printmaking was Ellen O. Nelson’s first love. Receiving a Speedball Linocut set as a gift from her parents when she was eight years old, she started a practice that she continues today. The design phase exercises her creativity, and the carving becomes a meditative ritual. If it is a monoprint, Ellen delights in the surprise of discovering what the various materials can do in terms of texture, pattern, and rhythm. - Ellen O. Nelson
